FAQ's
What is a regulation size pool table?
"Regulation," a term that gets abused on a daily basis in the pool table industry. Regulation technically means that the pool table is twice as long as it is wide - meaning just about every pool table on the face of the earth. What most people mean when they ask if a pool table is if it is a professional size. In most cases, the answer to this question would be no. Most home pool are what we call a Home 8', meaning the pool table has a 44" x 88" play surface. Professional tournaments are played on 9' pool tables which have a 50" x 100" play surface. So be careful when you hear the term regulation and make sure you specify exactly what you mean.
How do I move my pool table?
There are many steps, precautions and tools involved in moving a pool table correctly, especially when working with a 3-piece slate design which are the most common. The only correct way to move a 3-piece slate pool table is to totally disassemble the pool table marking each piece so that it goes back together the same way as before. Pool Table Movers Orlando does offer moving services throughout all of the Orlando and metropolitan areas. For more information Contact Us.
We never recommend moving your own pool table. All pool tables which are currently still under warranty will void the warranty if they are not serviced/moved by a manufacturer certified or ABIA certified service provider.

I've heard of 1-piece slate pool tables and 3-piece slate pool tables. Which is the best?
Your not in the dark. This is a very common question among new pool table buyers and it is a very popular misunderstanding that 1-piece slate pool tables are better because there are no seams. For the most part, this is not the case. In general, a 3-piece slate design offers seven times as many adjustment points as a one-piece slate design. This allows the technician to level the table much more accurately. When done correctly, the three piece will most always play better than the one-piece slate. We normally put it this way - 9 out of 10 pro tournaments are played on 3-piece slate pool tables. Need we say more?
What is a framed slate pool table? What are the advantages?
Framed slate refers to a wood backing normally attached with adhesive or screws to the underside of the slate. This allows the installer to staple the felt (for a firmer hold) as well as allowing them to plane the slate more accurately. Framed slate is the best design in our professional opinion. It offers added stability, a faster playing surface and eliminates the need for messy adhesives. Although, there are some well built unframed slate pool tables on the market. It's just best to stay with the frame slate design if you can. When installed correctly, even an unframed slate pool table will do for most home recreational use.
How high should I hang my pool table light?
We recommend hanging your pool table light between 36"-40" above the play surface of the pool table which should be about 66"-70" from the floor to the bottom of the pool table light.
Disclaimer: We do not recommend hanging the pool table light yourself. It is best to hire a licensed electrician in your area.
Do you charge extra for moving a pool table up or down stairs?
No. If your table is a 3-piece slate construction we can move the table virtually anywhere with no extra charge for stairs. However, if your pool table is a one piece slate, we do not offer a moving service when there are stairs involved.
